Dr. Gangamma T A: A Visionary Leader in Social Service and Women Empowerment A shining example of religion and social service, Dr. Gangamma T A has devoted more than 40 years to empowering women and improving communities. She is the creator of the Gangabhavani Mahila Temple, the Gangarajeshwari Mahila Samaja, and the Gangabhavani Mahila co-operative bank in Tumkur. These institutions promote cultural awareness, education, and financial independence. She received the Excellence in Social Service award at the SIWAA Awards 2024 on December 22 in Bangalore in recognition of her enormous achievements.

Recognitions and Achievements
Due to her self-less devotion, Dr. Gangamma has received multiple honors, such as:
Tumkur District Collector Dr. C. Somasekhar's Draupadi Devi Title, the Atmasree Kannada Cultural Foundation's National Daughter Award, the Kannadambe Social and Cultural Association's Bharat Seva Ratna Award, and the New Delhi-based Global Women Inspiration Award 2024 for promoting women's leadership. As she continues her objective of empowering women, Dr. Gangamma looks after the rebuilding of the Sri Rajarajeshwari Gangabhavani Temple with a strong dedication to helping the community. In order to provide dignity and care for people in need, she also hopes to open an old age home for the elderly.

Future Vision
Dr. Gangamma, who was born in Sagar, Shimoga, relocated to Tumkur when he was seven years old. Faith had a significant role in her early years, inspiring her to recite Vedic prayers and eventually get a tying diploma. She became a religious leader at the Sri Rajarajeshwari Gangabhavani Temple in 1986, continuing her mother's career. In order to empower women and advance social welfare, she and her husband, Pandit Vidwan Sri R. Namahshivaya, broadened their goal beyond religious offerings.
Dr. Gangamma established the Shri Gangabhavani Women's Cooperative Society in 2014 because she recognized the value of women having financial security. Through easily accessible loans, this program has offered financial assistance, promoting independence and business.

Empowering Women Through Financial Independence
She has started several initiatives through the Shri Rajarajeshwari Mahila Samaja, such as observing cultural and national holidays to promote harmony and understanding. setting up health camps for women and children with qualified medical professionals.
recognizing 350–400 kids a year for their outstanding academic performance. Use donations and special visits to assist the elderly and people with disabilities.
presenting women who have served in the social sector for five years with the Gangashree Award.
